Behavioral Health Technician

SUMMARY OF POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the supervision of the BHTS (behavioral health technician supervisor) provides advanced support to the clients and the organization. This position is crucial in the care of clients and residential information. The BHT is responsible for multiple tasks related to client care including documentation, structure, and support of the clients. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & COMPETENCIES: The BHT is responsible for client support and care in a residential setting. The BHT should demonstrate professionalism at all times, and document all interactions with the clients. Grace Recovery Services is developing new competencies and providing resources to our clients and staff to be successful. 

 

  • Serves as a behavioral health Technician under the supervision of the BHTS Responsible for the observation of clients in their daily tasks 
  • Documentation of all interactions, incidents, and observations of clients. 
  • BHT is responsible for overseeing the clients in taking their medication daily 
  • Responsible for the transportation of clients to and from the office where they do groups from 9:30-3:30 7 days a week. 
  • Responsible for maintaining a calm and peaceful environment for the clients 
  • Able to assist in deescalating a situation if it were to occur and document all behaviors.
  • Send and acknowledge emails within the company and follow all HIPPA laws pertaining to the clients and their care. 
  • Update medication logs, communication logs, and inventory logs as needed to provide a stable residential community for the clients. 
  • Assist clients in directing them to the proper staff for certain needs.

LEVEL OF EDUCATION/TRAINING/QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • High School Diploma/GED (Suggested but not necessary.) 
  • Minimum one year clean, if in recovery. 
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. 
  • Ability to diffuse situations with clients and the ability to redirect clients. 
  • Ability to apply the concepts of customer service in the workplace. Ability to use good professional judgment. Detail oriented. Ability to work as a team. 
  • Possesses a basic knowledge of all office equipment, including word processors, and copy machines, and a willingness to attend appropriate meetings to increase knowledge as needed. 
  • Good organizational, prioritization, and interpersonal communication skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. 
  • Respect for the confidentiality of all communications required within job duties, including client/employee records and documents, and electronic transmission by voice, data, and wire. 

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: CPR 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Regularly walk, stand, or stoop; occasionally lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects weighing up to 25 pounds; and regularly drives a motor vehicle. 


WORKING CONDITIONS: 

Work is performed in an office or residential house. Work exposes the incumbent to contagious or infectious diseases; Work may expose the incumbent to dangerous and volatile situations; which could result in bodily injury.

Counselor

SUMMARY OF POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:  We are interested in obtaining highly motivated clinicians to work at our substance use disorder treatment facility. Our mission is to empower individuals and provide them with a solid foundation for maintaining ongoing recovery. We are expanding and are looking for clinicians who are passionate about assisting clients in reaching their full potential. Grace Recovery Services is looking for counselors to help clients in either OP, IOP, or PHP levels of care.  


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & COMPETENCIES: 

  • Manage a caseload of clients 
  • Provide telehealth and in office visits 
  • Diagnosing and treatment planning for patients 
  • Complete clinical paperwork (intakes, treatment plans, progress notes) 
  • Advocate for patient needs 
  • Individual and group therapy 
  • Provide ethical and culturally sensitive weekly individual psychotherapy services 
  • Conduct clinical intakes and discharge planning 
  • Be knowledgeable about CARF and ASAM criteria 
  • Engage in individual/group supervision regularly as decided by the clinical supervisor Plan courses of treatment based on the patient's cultural identity factors 
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed 
  • Consult with other mental health/addictions professionals as necessary 
  • Facilitate referrals to support agencies as needed 

 

LEVEL OF EDUCATION/TRAINING/QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • The minimum education level is an associate degree in human services, Chemical Dependency, Psychology, Counseling, or related field. 
  • Minimum of one year of work experience providing substance and/or clinical services. Required to be certified by the State of Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists as a Trainee or CSC-AD, CAC-AD. 
  • Experience conducting needs and risk assessments and understanding crisis management. Previous experience with group counseling and facilitation. 
  • Preferred experience with the integrated care process, Mental Health/ Substance Use Disorder Population/Adult populations. 

 

ABILITY TO COMMUTE/RELOCATE:  

Glen Burnie, MD: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required) 


PAY: 

Pay is based on licensure and field experience
